Minnesota Twins Favorites
Mookie’s Random Twins Favorites
What can I say? I absolutely love the game of baseball. It’s life, and life is good if you are a Twins fan. I am a sportsdaddy because of my love of baseball. I graduated from college because I was able to transfer my knowledge of the game into my academic requirements. I once learned an entire semester’s worth of Economics with baseball related acronyms. I love the game, it is my favorite pastime.
- Greatest Moment: Game 7, 1987 World Series Twins vs. Cardinals: I was sitting right down the left field line in row 15. I will never forget the din in the Metrodome that night. Flash bulbs poppin, hugs galore, and pure ecstasy as Minnesota FINALLY had a World Champion!
- Favorite All-Time Twins Players: Kent Hrbek, Mickey Hatcher, and Kirby Puckett
- Best Twins Pitcher: Johan Santana, and Frankie “Sweet Music” Viola
- Best Hometown Twin: Joe Mauer
- Favorite Moment as Twins employee: I was picked as the “Employee of the Month” aka Homestand Hero, as member of the Twins Fan Relations team in 1998 for April. I got to work the homeplate section, right by the 7th Inning Stretch area (all the in game events took place there) for the entire season afterwards. It was great!!!
- Biggest Personal Achievement at a Twins Game: I was chosen as the Sealtest Diary Grand Prize winner of the “Week of World Champions” in 1991. My reward: Sitting with legendary PA Announcer Bob Casey for the entire game, and getting to announce the 7th Inning Stretch over the Public Address System
- Favorite Twin from the 90′s: Ron Coomer- Coomdog is coolio
- Favorite Metrodome Song: Theme from Star Wars during the entire 1987 season. Oh, and close second is Ronnie Neuman’s Satin Doll on the organ for any game in the 70′s, 80′s and beyond.
- Best Autograph obtained: Puck signing my Watertown, SD VFW hat in 1985.
- Favorite All-Time Vendor: There was this really cool licorice rope girl who worked games in the 80′s. I never met her personally, but I always admired her from afar.
- Best Spring Training Moment: 1987, meeting Mickey Hatcher and Harmon Killebrew, and getting my name announced on the Twins Broadcast vs the Astros in Kissimee Fl.

Baseball is the greatest game in the world. I’m really looking forward to the new season. Should be the best yet.
