A MN Twins blog from the Sports Daddy used to be called Twinnin. We asked the readers “What is the best tune you have ever heard at the Metrodome for a Twins game?”
“Centerfield- by Tom Fogarty.”
“Take Me Out to the Ball Game.“
“Superman Theme- when a big twins hitter stepped to the plate.”
“Satin Doll”- by Ronnie Newman, during Twins infield practice.

“For any country to be a country, you have to have an air force, a football team and a beer. You can get by without the air force and the football team, but you have to have a beer.” Frank Zappa

I don’t how I missed this! Earlier this season, after the Twins clinched, a new song featuring the Hold Steady’s Craig Finn, along with a group called the Baseball Project released a song for the Minnesota Twins. The Baseball Project’s new Twins song, “Don’t Call them Twinkies” is available on iTunes.I just bought it, and it’s pretty cool. It capture’s the spirit of being a Twins junkie fan.
Everything from 1965 to Kirby Puckett, and Ron Gant clearly being out when Kent Hrbek tagged him in the 1991 World Series is covered, so download it and enjoy. As Linda Pitmon, the drummer for The Baseball Project, notes, the song features Finn’s specialty of “name-checking no less than eight Minnesota cities, two neighborhoods, two streets, nine Twins players and two (managers) in just over four minutes.” Check out some sample lyrics below: Read on…

So who is, was, will be Chelsea Rodgers? One of the more intriguing speculation claimed that Prince, in this song & video below, was really singing about himself, stating that if “you just listen to the words of his music (read the lyrics below) you might actual get to know him.” Regardless the music is great, and the video is quintessential Prince:
I don’t really know, who Chelsea Rodgers is, nor do I care all that much, but back when this song came out in 2007, the rumors were rampant. Read on…
MercyMe made its annual appearance on Saturday, Aug. 28. playing a pregame concert at 5 p.m. and then singing the national anthem. MercyMe was part of the Rangers’ Faith Concert Series presented by I am Second and KLTY/94.9 FM.
And, as he has done in the past, Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton joined the action, addressing the crowd at 5:15 p.m.
“MercyMe is from the area, and I’ve gotten to know them over the past few years,” Hamilton said. “It’s been a good time knowing them, because they’re all solid guys. And anytime you get to speak and address the power of Jesus, it is something to get excited for.”
Ballcard of the Week Gettin the Super Freak back in purple remains a goal for some Vikings fans. We'd love to see him finish what he started for a 3rd time in purple.
