Twins Territory Happy 4th of July to true Americans 1

Minnesota Twins Territory July 4thHappy 4th of July Twins Territory and major league sports fans everywhere at every venue. The Sports Daddy thinks it’s time for everybody to take back the country from all the politically- correct – new – rules – crap that seeps in through the pop media.

It’s my opinion that the silent majority of this country are still fly-over-state residents at heart. You know the people? They are the fine peeps who I would proudly call me friends, and share these types of characteristics (give or take): Read more…

Gossip US population is not qualified to have opinions. Bloggers beware 0

Religion gossip sermon christiansThe Onion, the Bible and pastors might all agree that gossip is inappropriate for US bloggers.

Yesterday in church, our pastor cited many passages from Proverbs with a strong message that gossip is NOT appropriate behavior for Christians. He has a point.  In fact I don’t think that gossip is a good idea for anyone. It’s just not a nice thing to do.

As he preached about the many moral reasons to not spread rumors and speculation, I kept thinking about all of the mass media in this country that profit Read more…

Stuff My Friends Send to my email: “November 2010 is Coming; “CHANGE” 0

Posted on August 01, 2010 by Marcus "Mookie" Anderson

I am going to start posting things that my friends send to me via email. You know the type of email that people read and feel strong enough to forward? Anyway, I usually don’t FORWARD anything to anyone’s in box without feeling strong enough to render an opinion, so when I post these, I will try and share my opinions.

This one is obviously politically motivated, intended to send a message to the democratic party. I am not a “tea party” Republican by any means, but I do believe in the type of government that requires checks and balances. When one party gets too powerful, it is in my nature to vote for change. I am a strong advocate of voting for the best person who most represents your beliefs, and feel that every opinion should be considered. So with hopes of helping spread the word of someone who wrote this, here goes:

“68% will send this, should be 100%”

We the people are coming
I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG,
OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,
AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS,
ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!
In the email, I was asked to send this on if I agree, or delete if I don’t.  It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God.  Therefore I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a problem in having ‘In God! We Trust’ on our money and having ‘God’ in the Pledge of Allegiance. I believe it’s time we stand up for what we believe!  If you agree, pass this on, if not, delete.

Republican Soccer Mom: Vikings are Boring, Jared is HOT! 0

Last week, “Quacker,” one of our many “beatwriters” for Vikingstailgate.com, attended the Republican National Convention in St. Paul. She survived the anarchy and rioting on the streets, and met up with a couple of All-Pro Vikings along the way. Read more…

On the Playoff Campaign Trail in D.C. 0

Posted on December 12, 2004 by Marcus "Mookie" Anderson

Maybe George Bush will return the favor? Afterall, wasn’t it Mike Tice who showed up at the the Target Center last October to support GW in his Presidential campaign. I believe it was GW who, after receiving a #1 Vikings Jersey from Coach Tice, proclaimed,”

Can “W” help the Vikings WIN in D.C.?

“We are here to ask for your vote. We are here to ask for your help.”

Minnesota wasn’t one of the states that GW carried in his huge victory last November, but Tice showed up to help. Now, a few months later, the Vikings season is on the line, and they are going to Washington, D.C. home of the President, but it is highly doubtful that not even Bush campaign strategists could help the Vikings in any way this weekend. Not even if they wanted to…

The issue continues to be the Vikings players themselves. When/if the players on the Vikes ever decide to commit themselves to a cause, and muster up the heart to seek said cause, there is a chance for this team to be great.

The whole scene reeks of the 1987. The Vikes backed into the playoffs with an 8-7 record during a “Strike-shortened” season.

The Vikings needed to beat the Redskins to get into the playoffs, but lost 27-24. Sound familiar?

However, the Vikings backed their way into the playoffs because St. Louis lost their last game of the year to Dallas. Of course that St. Louis team was the Cardinals, but if this year’s St. Louis Rams team would lose on Sunday to the Jets, the Vikes could back in to the playoffs and the party could REALLY start!

The 1987 team mangled the New Orleans Saints 44-10, then crushed Super Joe Montana’s team in San Fran 36-24 before losing to Joe Gibbs Redskins again 17-10 in the NFC Championship.

This years Vikings has really been as much as an enigma as Jerry Burns’ 1987 team. I still think there is a legitimate run in these’04 guys that could take us to Jacksonville, but also think there is a miserable choking piece of crap team that loses games to pathetic teams like the ’03 Arizona Cardinals, Oakland Raiders, and San Diego Chargers. You never know with this grungey lot of Vikings.

I guess that’s why they “Play the games” and why “We watch!”
