Moments with kids: better than championship games, birthdays or pay checks 3

Being a “stay at home” dad has been a blessing in disguise. After a few short months of unemployment, I will return to full time work on Monday April 11th.  I can honestly say that I will miss moments with my kids.

The daily job duties required for “Modern Day Mr. Mom”  are more memorable than any milestone, corporate goal or other achievement from any occupation that I have ever held.

On top of the list  is getting the extra time to spend with my very spirited 6-year old son. Just this morning,  I cashed in one of the six daddy coupons he created for my birthday 2-weeks ago. I took him up on the offer for “A walk to school with daddy on a nice day.” Read more…

Sports Mom: A Trip to Target for Kindergarten math practice & saving money 0

Practicing Math and Saving Money with 5, 6, 7, and 8. These two things are near and dear to my heart.  The idea of saving money is really more about maximizing our money, particularly in light of the Sports Daddy’s job status change.

Posted on January 28, 2011 by Ellen Anderson

My 6 year old son is in Kindergarten. Each week there is a letter of the week and a specific sound associated with that letter. This week it is the letter c as in cat or crack and not c as in church or city. He is to incorporate the letter of the week with his sharing slot of the week. His sharing time slot is on Monday’s. Sports kids predict NFL playoffs 2011In 2010, the kids and I found great entertainment in picking NFL  regular season games. Okay, so we pretty much stunk with the picks, but it’s all just for fun. That being said, we put our collective brains together one last time for the NFL and came up with some pretty nice Super Bowl options in our latest video presentations.

Surprises, upsets, and shocking results are all part of the time we spend together, so naturally, they depict our choices for eventual Super Bowl Champions.  Two of our choices are repeat Lombardi winners, and one is a first time World Champion. Enjoy… Read more…
