After watching it live in 1991, and declaring that Kirby Puckett was a bona-fide baseball legend while jumping up and down and jamming my finger in my St. Paul apartment, I watched tape of Puck’s Game 6 homer, and believe that he called his shot!
I watched it over and over again. Conclusion: Kirby Puckett knew he was gonna win that game for the Twins, and he deilvered. He is in the Hall of Fame because of that moment. Read on…

This Sports Daddy used to write content about baseball on the MN Twins blog called Twinnin. One of my favorite things to do there was ask readers questions and read their responses. For this question, I asked readers, “What is the closest you’ve ever came to catching a foul ball in the Metrodome?”
- “Never even close, I’m afraid.”
- “30 rows behind home plate, this obese dude sitting right next to me “posted up”, bumped me out of way, and caught the ball!”
- “Not at the Dome but first base side at candle stick park.”
