The Dome Dog, a staple food for many a Twins fan, won’t be moving to the team's new open-air stadium at Target Field.
Austin-based Hormel Foods Corp. and the Minnesota Twins say Wednesday they have parted ways amicably.
Hormel has sold hot dogs at Twins games for much of the past decade, and offered many promotions, including Dollar-A-Dog Night on Wednesdays and the Hormel Hot Dog Row of Fame — where those seated in that row got free hot dogs.
Hormel spokeswoman Julie Craven says the company decided to stop providing hot dogs at Twins games after reviewing the change in cost for sponsorships at the new stadium.
Some concession stands at Target Field will have different themes. Other concessions will include local flavor, including a steak sandwich from Murray's and State Fair-style walleye on a stick.
