Baseball America, there is nothing more fascinating when rival professional crowds join forces to support our nation’s cause.
This Sports Daddy was in New Orleans for the Vikings football game just one month after 9-11. During the 2nd Quarter of that event those of us in the stands learned that the bombing of Afghanistan had begun. I will never forget the shivers Read more…

In February 2011, Major League baseball sent out casting call for an innovative new experience. It was called the Ultimate Dream Job, requiring one baseball fanatic to literally watch every single baseball game for the entire season. With a well known passion for the game, writing skills, blogging experience and video background, I applied.
As of March 21, I have not heard back from them. Apparently I did not get the job. I have yet to hear back from the hiring manager. This will not preclude me from sharing my video & writing samples that were submitted during the application process. First off, here is my video: Read more…

I would like a copy of this book, The Now Revolution by Jay Baer and Amber Naslund so I can write a full review of it on this site, and for BlogConsulting.com.
I am also a big fan of how Chris Moody set up a social media contest to give away the same title on his blog. Some people just get it. Check out the comments I wrote on his site and how quickly he responded. Very nice.

This Week’s Johnsonville GRILLVILLE Secret Code Word is “SAUSAGE.” That’s right, I wrote it, SAUSAGE, SAUSAGE, SAUSAGE…
You might remember a post from awhile back for a neat little Johnsonville Social Media campaign for grilling. I just wanted to remind everybody out there that they can still participate, so DO IT.
But get involved quickly, as the campaign will end on July 20th. Yup, that means, that I too have to get crackin, as I have been busy with my own Social Media Marketing campaign launches for a certain large legal publisher in the United States.
Good luck to all you tailgaters.
In other news, I will be looking for some really worthwhile cooking courses for grilling. I want to learn how to be a master chef on the grille. It is a goal of mine for 2010-2011.

Every now and then, the social media marketer in me, gets excited about companies that try their hand at creating a unique contest to engage their product users.
Johnsonville (“Sausage is all we do”) recently launched “Share Your Ville”, an online video contest where winners will receive awesome Summer Grilling items, including newly released products from Coleman, gift cards from Gander Mountain, a collection of products from Hefty and more!
I was contacted by one of their marketers, who introduced me to this campaign, and I like the concept. To enter all you have to do is create a short video in one of four main categories and upload it to their www.ShareYourVille.com contest page.
To participate in this fun engaging campaign, I am going to the local grocery store this week, to buy several of their brats and sausages. Then, it’s grilling time with the handheld video to record my family’s reaction. I will write some reviews of the products I buy, and hope you all will do the same. If you are interested in trying this yourself, go for it!
More experienced “professional” video creators will be able to enter a category of their own and they will be vying for a $10,000 cash prize. And here’s the great news… you can enter the same video into all the categories and you can create as many videos as you’d like!
Here’s a little insider information: The first 50 entries will receive a FREE Johnsonville product! So fire up your grills, get your video cams going and have some fun this 4th of July.
